About
I'm Ray Santos, a designer in the New York City area who cares about the smallest pixels in a system.
I'm a senior visual designer with 15+ years in iconography, brand identity and UX/UI, trained in communication design at Pratt Institute. I design pixel-precise icon systems, build visual languages that scale across product, web, print and campaigns, and turn complex flows into clear, intuitive interfaces. I've always looked for ways to automate the repetitive parts of design, and AI has been a game changer: I explore more directions, iterate faster and ship polished work in a fraction of the time.
I've worn nearly every hat in design: icon systems and brand identities, product UI and design systems, websites and intranets I've coded myself, and campaigns that span email, social, print and trade show. I've done it with every kind of team, from lean two-person crews to global, cross-functional groups, remote and on-site. That range lets me take work from concept to production without anything getting lost in handoff, and jump in wherever a team needs me most.
Away from the screen I'm cooking, drawing with my kids, designing furniture and woodworking with hand tools and machinery.
